Short Form Play Writing Class
This class, taught by award winning playwright Brian Cern, will focus on the creation and development of a ten-minute play. Through this work, students will learn skills that can be applied to all lengths. Through provided examples, students will learn proper script and story structure. Students will then write and develop their own 10-minute play towards the goal of a staged reading and possible submission opportunities.
Students will be required to submit a draft of their script to the instructor 48 hours before the class meets. The instructor will then distribute the script to the class for reading before class discussion.
